The July 2011 Temecula Valley Prospectors meeting will be held on Saturday, July 9th, at 9:00 am. Our meetings are held at the Temecula Community Center located at 28816 Pujol St., Temecula CA. Everyone is welcome, so we hope to see you there!

Here are some of the things going on this month:

Item 1:

Our current Grand Prize Raffle is a Lifetime Membership to the GPAA.
Lifetime membership includes the Gold Prospectors Magazines, and the GPAA claims guide books and prospecting permits.
This membership has a value of $950!

** JUST ADDED: The Gold Buddy Drywasher that was donated to the club has been added to the Grand Prize package bringing the value to almost $1,400!!! Be sure to get those tickets!

Item 2:

Have you been out Metal Detecting or Gold Prospecting this last month? Find anything? Then bring it to the meeting so we can see. All entries are voted on and the top two of each category will win a prize.

Item 3:

We have four great raffles each month (not counting the Grand Prize) that you can participate in while at the meeting. Not only is it a lot of fun (especially when you win), but it helps to support the club.

• Door Prize Raffle (Free): Just by signing in, you are entered into the Door Prize Raffle. We normally have 1 to 4 items that are given away each month.
• 50/50 Raffle ($1 per ticket): This is the easiest raffle of them all… if you win, you split (50/50) all of the money collected for the 50/50 raffle with the club. For example, if $70 is collected, then you, as the winner, get $35 and the club keeps $35.
• Gold Raffle ($1 per ticket): There are typically 3 to 4 items each month. One bag of gold concentrate to work on your panning skills and some nice gold nuggets to show your friends.
• Table Raffle ($1 per ticket): You might think… what am I going to do with a table?, but the Table Raffle is an array of items sitting on a table that the winners can choose from. There are typically 10-15 items ranging in value from a few dollars to over a hundred dollars on occasion. The nice thing about the table raffle is that you can see what is there before you purchase your tickets.

Our speaker this month will be Frank from Columbia Metal Detectors. Frank has a ton of first hand experience and should have some great tips for the beginner as well as the seasoned detector.

The Temecula Rod Run is happening this weekend. This event completely shuts down Old Town Front Street from First to Moreno, so you will need to come in off of Highway 79 rather than Rancho California Road. Here is a map showing you the best way to come.

Our speaker this month will be Cory Rudolph from the GPAA. Cory came and spoke last year about stream and river prospecting and it was really informative. This time he will be talking about Desert Prospecting which I am really looking forward to as that is 80% of what we do out here.

This month our speaker will be David Finnern who is the author of Lost Below (2009), Passage Through Deep Waters (1997), & Sports Divers Guide to Sunken Treasure (1996). If you’ve ever been intrigued by treasures of the deep, then you don’t want to miss this meeting.
