The June 2010 Temecula Valley Prospectors meeting will be held on Saturday, June 12th, at 9:00 am. Our meetings are held at the Temecula Community Center located at 28816 Pujol St., Temecula CA.
Our Metal Detector & Roy’s Rocker Grand Prize was given away last month and Ken has acquired a new grand prize that is going to knock your socks off… are you sitting down? Well here it is…

Keene DW2 Mini Dry Washer w/12V Power
Simply the lightest, most compact, portable and efficient Dry Washer on the market. The easy turning hand crank controls the vibration on our DW2, enabling heavier materials to settle faster. The over-sized Marlex hopper has an adjustable flow control to provide an even flow of material with increased capacity. The dual riffle design greatly improves fine gold recovery and has a snap latching system which makes removal of the riffle tray a snap for clean up. Ir includes the optional 12 Volt electric motor that operates the vibrating crank shaft for faster settling of heavier material. Efficient, light, portable and a breeze to operate, this Dry Washer is an absolute value.
The retail value of this Dry Washer is $775, so you need to make sure you get your share of the tickets, because this one is going to be HOT!!
We are still waiting on confirmation of our speaker this month, but we’ve had a lot going on this month, so you’ll want to come and catch up on what everyone’s been doing and share your adventures too.
All are welcome, so we hope to see you there.

Hi Everyone,
Nancy DeFalco from the GPAA contacted Ken Hannan, our Chapter President, today looking for some help over at the GPAA office in Temecula. She wasn’t specific about what she needed help with, but it is usually some type of basic assembly of kits or items (i.e. DVD’s, snuffers, etc.).
They are looking for help this Friday, April 30th, at 8:00 am. Any volunteers from our Chapter that show up to help will earn Chapter Credits for TVP and lunch will be provided by the GPAA.
If you think you will be able to help out, please email Ken Hannan at president@gpaatvp.com so he can get a count to Nancy.
Here is the location information for those that can make it:

The April 2010 Temecula Valley Prospectors meeting will be held on Saturday, April10th, at 9:00 am. Our meetings are held at the Temecula Community Center located at 28816 Pujol St., Temecula CA.
This month, we are privileged to have Jerry Hobbs, president of Public Lands for the People, as our guest speaker. The PLP is a great advocate and support to the prospecting community and it will be interesting to hear what is going on and learn how we can get involved to help.

Last month we introduced the new Grand Prize Raffle. A beautiful picture called “Roy’s Rocker” by John Agrella. This month, we have sweetened the pot! Thanks to a generous donation by Vice President Mark Weaver, we have added a Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger Metal Detector to the package. That’s right… the winner walks away with both!

Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger
Hope to see you all there!

February’s outing will be at the East Fork of the San Gabriel River(GPAA Site CA-71 in the old book and CA-25 in the new book).
We will get there Saturday morning (2/20/2010) around 8 AM. The weather might be cold so be prepared. The river has a good flow going with the recent rain, so we can look forward to good digging and new exposed dirt. If you have been up there with us before we will meet at a place called the vortex. It is just up the road from the cattle crossing bridge, it’s the parking area on the right side of the road (uphill) with a trash can. You should see Gary’s Toyota truck at the spot. Gary, Carter, Don and a few members will be going up Friday night and staying until Sunday. Post in the “Outings and Claims” forum if you want to contact them.
There is good prospecting there and up stream as well. The terrain is steep so be forewarned. Make sure to bring everything you might need. Some things could be shovel, pick, buckets, classifiers, pans, sluice box, drinking water, food, warm cloths, any medications you might need, and anything else you might think of.
It should be a good time out there so have fun and stay safe. Good luck in finding that nice yellow gold.
