Hi Everyone,
Nancy DeFalco from the GPAA contacted Ken Hannan, our Chapter President, today looking for some help over at the GPAA office in Temecula. She wasn’t specific about what she needed help with, but it is usually some type of basic assembly of kits or items (i.e. DVD’s, snuffers, etc.).
They are looking for help this Friday, March 12th, at 8:00 am. Any volunteers from our Chapter that show up to help will earn Chapter Credits for TVP and lunch will be provided by the GPAA.
If you think you will be able to help out, please email Ken Hannan at president@gpaatvp.com so he can get a count to Nancy.
Here is the location information for those that can make it:

February’s outing will be at the East Fork of the San Gabriel River(GPAA Site CA-71 in the old book and CA-25 in the new book).
We will get there Saturday morning (2/20/2010) around 8 AM. The weather might be cold so be prepared. The river has a good flow going with the recent rain, so we can look forward to good digging and new exposed dirt. If you have been up there with us before we will meet at a place called the vortex. It is just up the road from the cattle crossing bridge, it’s the parking area on the right side of the road (uphill) with a trash can. You should see Gary’s Toyota truck at the spot. Gary, Carter, Don and a few members will be going up Friday night and staying until Sunday. Post in the “Outings and Claims” forum if you want to contact them.
There is good prospecting there and up stream as well. The terrain is steep so be forewarned. Make sure to bring everything you might need. Some things could be shovel, pick, buckets, classifiers, pans, sluice box, drinking water, food, warm cloths, any medications you might need, and anything else you might think of.
It should be a good time out there so have fun and stay safe. Good luck in finding that nice yellow gold.

We have a booth at the Lancaster gold show. The gold show is a great way to let people know that we are here and what we do. It is also a great way for us to get new members and make a little money from a raffle. We need volunteers to help out running the booth and answering questions. But most of all we need members to just come. The more the merrier. If you have not been to a gold show it is a lot of fun and you get to meet a lot of great people.
We need some members to help the Gpaa to setup on Friday morning 8am - noon. I will not be able to get there until Friday night due to work. We will set our booth up on saturday morning at 9am. The gold show will run from 10am-5pm on Saturday and 10am-4pm on Sunday. The Gpaa will need people to help take down after the show on Sunday. If you can help setup, take down, or run the booth, please give me a call at 951-244-3442.
The gold show will be held at the Antelope Valley Fairgrownds. The address is 2551 West Avenue H, Suite 102 H Lancaster, CA 93536.

The November TVP meeting will be held on Saturday, November 14th, 2009. We will be starting at 9:00 am, but the doors will be open at 8:00 am if you want to come early.
Don’t forget that we have a new meeting place: Temecula Community Center located at 28816 Pujol St., Temecula CA.
This month we have a new grand prize for the raffle… a Desert Fox Spiral Panning Maching from Camel Mining Products.

The Desert Fox is the original spiral panning device that was first introduced back in 1969 as the Little Camel. There are many copycat machines out there, but the Desert Fox is top notch. I personally have a Desert Fox and just love it. It is just amazing to watch it in action and see the gold walking up the spirals.
The club meetings are an excellent forum to meet with your fellow prospectors and treasure hunters. It is the perfect setting to talk about your recent outings and learn what’s been going on with everyone else.
I hope to see you there.
