The April 2010 Temecula Valley Prospectors meeting will be held on Saturday, April10th, at 9:00 am. Our meetings are held at the Temecula Community Center located at 28816 Pujol St., Temecula CA.

This month, we are privileged to have Jerry Hobbs, president of Public Lands for the People, as our guest speaker. The PLP is a great advocate and support to the prospecting community and it will be interesting to hear what is going on and learn how we can get involved to help.

Last month we introduced the new Grand Prize Raffle. A beautiful picture called “Roy’s Rocker” by John Agrella. This month, we have sweetened the pot! Thanks to a generous donation by Vice President Mark Weaver, we have added a Garrett Scorpion Gold Stinger Metal Detector to the package. That’s right… the winner walks away with both!

Our first Metal Detecting Outing will be held on Saturday April 10th after the monthly TVP Meeting. John Bucholzer will be leading the group and we will be heading down to a spot called Oceanside Harbor in Oceanside. The meeting place will be at a pay to park area where S. Harbor Dr. meets N. Pacific St. The approximate address is 204 S. Harbor Dr., Oceanside CA (click the address for a map).

Here is what you need to bring:

• A Metal Detector
• Food and water for yourself
• Cash for the parking area

If you don’t have a detector right now, but are interested in learning more about them, please come out and see how they work.

** Important Update **

We just found out that the Temecula Rod Run is happening this weekend. This event completely shuts down Old Town Front Street from First to Moreno, so you will need to come in off of Highway 79 rather than Rancho California Road. Here is a map showing you the best way to come.

This route worked last year, but please be sure to give your self some extra time in case you hit a detour. I know Ken has a lot in store for us this month and we want to try to start on time

This month we are introducing a new item for the Grand Prize Raffle. It is a beautiful prospecting picture called “Roy’s Rocker” by John Agrella and would look great hanging on your wall at home.
