The October TVP meeting will be held on Saturday, October 10th, 2009. We will be starting at 9:00 am, but the doors will be open at 8:00 am if you want to come early.

Don’t forget that we have a new meeting place: Temecula Community Center located at 28816 Pujol St., Temecula CA.

This month we are having our “TVP Members Raffle” which should be a lot of fun. This has been referred to as the “White Elephant Raffle” in the past, but that tends to give the impression that the raffle items aren’t something you would want… which couldn’t be farther from the truth. Here is how it works:

1. Rather than the club buying goodies for the raffle table, the members are asked to bring the items.
2. They can be new items or they can be “gently used” items, but they should be something you would want to pick yourself.
3. The items don’t have to be related to prospecting and can be anything that you feel is appropriate.
4. If an item comes in that the board doesn’t feel should be included in the raffle, they will remove the item from the table.
5. This is a great fundraiser for the club and should be a lot of fun, so start gathering up your items now.

Club meetings are a great place for our “newbie” prospectors to learn some tips and tricks about prospecting and a place for our more “seasoned” members to share their knowledge with others. We always have a great time and, as always, there is never a cost to attend a club meeting.

It is time to come show off your treasure hunting skills, or if you are like me it is time to hunt through the closet, dust off your metal detector and replace the batteries.  We are having our annual metal detector hunt at Siera park in Canyon Lake. We will be having two detector beach style hunts and a potluck lunch. There will be prizes handed out for special targets and also a prize for the best potluck dish.

We will start at 9am. We will have the hunts followed by lunch and probably end sometime around noon. TVP will supply the hamburgers and hot dogs. Please bring a potluck dish or something to share.

You will need to be on the list to be allowed in the Canyon Lake gate. If you signed up at the meeting you are all set. If not, Please give Mark Weaver a call at 951-244-6138. Everyone in the car does not need to be on the list just the driver. Don’t forget your ID or they will not let you in past the gate. At the gate don”t forget to ask the guards for a map to get to Siera Park.

Last year we had a lot of fun so don’t miss this.

Don’t miss this meeting. We have a lot going on. We will be giving away the F2 Fisher metal detector that Legends Prospecting Supplies donated to us. We will also be voting in new board members along with all the regular fun we have. Don’t worry we won’t make you be president.

Come and see who the new officers will be. Please leave all tomatoes and fruit for throwing at home.

Ready to try a new place to meet? We will be meeting at the Temecula Community Center. The address is 28816 Pujol st. Temecula, CA. We will get there around 8am to start setting up and will have to be out of there by 12noon.

We should have a lot of fun. If you are new to prospecting this is the perfect place for you to come and talk with people who share the same interests. If you are more experienced please come and join us and share your knowledge.
